"Gili Gili Magic" returned home on 28th
December 2002 after a 45 day long successful magic tour of Sri
Lanka.
 |
This mega project of Sri Lanka was
organized by the "Sunrise Enterprise", Colombo and was sponsored by
Neelkamal, Srilankan Airlines, Seylan Bank. Shakthi TV, Shakthi FM,
Sirasa TV. Sirasa FM, MTV, Veerakesari Daily,
etc. |
| Mass publicity was
provided through the print and visual media, which made the people
recognize the magic troupe in the nook and corners of
Srilanka. |

| The performances were
held for packed audiences in Colombo. Negambo. Kandy, Trincomalee
and Jaffna. Magic effects like the Under Water Escape, Alladin's
Carpet, Artists' Dream, Spikes of Fire, Jungle Mystery, etc., were
highly appreciated. |
| The people
adored the blend of magic, speech and humor with the soft and
pleasant background music provided by the troupe's orchestra. The
Shankars had to spend hours with the spectators after the shows,
signing autographs and taking photographs. |

The highlight of the
show was the Shankars "Magic for Universal Peace" performance at
.Jaffna. Gili Gili Magic was the first entertainment programme for
the people of Jaffna, after 20 long years of war and tension. The
people flooded the auditorium and the Shankars had to give 5 special
shows for them. |
| Where ever they went,
the Shankars were faced by a mass of general public with full praise
for the show and tons of questions in their minds like "How did you
pass the needle through your eye in the TV show ?", "How did you
stop our watch??". |

At the end of their tour,
the troupe left a large gathering of people who missed the show with
a promise to come back again and entertain them in
future. |
