GILI GILI MAGIC in
Holland (18 July 2003 - 27 July
2003)
 |
Shankar Junior
represented India at the Federation of International Societies of
Magicians World Convention held at The Hague, Holland from July 21
to July 26, 2003 |
| This convention was
attended by 2500 magicians from around the world and is termed as
the largest magicians’ convention in the world. |
 |
|
Apart from magic
performances by renowned magicians, the convention included
Lectures, Seminars, Debates and competitions. There were 150 unique
magic acts in the competitions. |
| Finding Shankar Junior
at the convention was not difficult. Dressed in traditional Indian
costume, he was popularising the art of Indian Magic. In the midst
of the Hi-tech Magic of the west, Traditional Indian Magic had
proven to be equally effective. |
 |
 |
They appreciated the
Shankars’ efforts in providing encouragement and an international
platform to the Street magicians of India and also in keeping the
dying art of Indian Street Magic alive. |
| Max Maven from USA, an
expert in “Mental Magic”, said – “I waited 12 years to see you
perform, It was worth the wait ” after watching Shankar Junior’s
performance. |
 |
Having participated in 5 International magicians conventions
earlier, this time too Shankar Junior came home on 13th August
2003 with flying colors – another feather in India’s Cap.
