OUTDOOR EVENT

The Outdoor Event was one of the major highlights of the convention.

Hoerbi Kull

There were 8 stages in the Ajjarkad Stadium. Each Stage was occupied by a Street Magician. They included – Chand Baba, Chand Pasha, Sardar Sayed Hussain, Sayed Mastana Samjunath Lalanath Vadi and Hoerbi Kull.

Vighnesh Kumar of Perdoor performed the Live burial wherein he was buried underground (soil directly over his body) for 31 minutes.

This was followed by the Straight Jacket Escape by Dean Gunnarson – first ever to be held in India. He was secured by a straight jacket and chained by the Police Authorities. Handcuffs were borrowed from the Police on stage and were used to secure Dean.

His legs were tied to a crane with the help of a rope made of cloth and it was set on fire. Dean was lifted to a height of 152 feet at a speed of 80 kms/hr. At this height, he made his escape and came down before the burning rope could snap off. The ears became senseless with the sound of the applause of the crowd.

The record crowd was estimated to be over FIFTY THOUSAND.

After the historic escape act, there was the miracle act of “Garuda Thukam”. Two men was lifted by hooks attached to their bare skin and revolved around.  They showed no signs of pain at all !!!

Vighnesh Kumar made his appearance again for his feat with the bed of nails. A 6 foot long board was nailed with 24 kilograms of 5 inch long nails and he was made to sleep on the bed of pointed nails. To make his situation more worse, three grinding stones (total weight 230 kilos – approx) were placed on his chest, stomach and legs. Wheat was pound on this stone by the help of pounding stick. The audience had a nail biting experience when three more stones were placed on top making a total of 450 kilos approx.

Vighnesh Kumar survived both the death defying miracles with no injuries and had another feather in his cap.

The Outdoor Event was concluded with the felicitation by Smt. Rani Satish (Minister for Kannada and Culture, Govt. of Karnataka) to Dean Gunnarson, Sri N. N. Pal (DGM, Corporation Bank) and Sri Jayakrishna A. Shetty (Jaykrishna Industries Mumbai).

The people returned with an in event in their mind that they had never ever seen before and probably will not in the near future.
