Reviving the dying
art
Shankar Junior had the
privilege of learning The Indian Cups and Balls from a traditional
magician. The act was being performed by Prof. Vazhakunnam, a
veteran magician from the South Indian State of Kerala. Shankar
learnt the act from one of the students of Vazhakunnam -
Nanu.
After learning the act in a
traditional manner, Shankar Junior, with the direction of
Mahadevananda modified it to his personal style and came out with
his current version of - The Traditional Indian Cups &
Balls.

This act of his
was first performed overseas at the FISM International
Magicians Competition 1991 at Switzerland for which he won the
International Award. |

His act was highly appreciated all over. He was invited
byMagician/Producer John Fisher to London to feature in the
Thames Television show - "Magic Comedy Hour".

In the later
years, Shankar Junior performed the act in all the
International Convention he participated including - Leewarden
1996, Los Angeles 1998, FISM 2003. |

He also
performed the act at the prestigious London Magic Circle in
1991 and 2003. |

gifted his personal set of the Indian Cups and Balls to the
International Magic Museum at the London Magic Circle on 4th
August 2003. |

All the cups used
by Shankar Junior are made of coconut shells, designed and
manufactured by Mr. Ganesh Raj P. G. They are 100%
handcrafted. |

Mr. Ganesh hails
from Katukukke, a small village in Kerala State. He masters in
